How will my email campaign display in my contacts' different email programs?

Email clients can have various distinct ways of processing and displaying incoming emails. As a result, there may be variations in how emails display from one program to another. You cannot control the settings on the recipient’s computer or e-mail program. Some programs, like Outlook, have a setting to only download pictures when you click on them. Otherwise showing a box with a red “X” in it.

When you utilize an Internet program like Constant Contact, they have designed their templates to make these variations as small as possible. We can customize any of the templates to reflect your branding and / or website.

Here are a few guidelines to consider when creating your emails:

If you use background images, be sure to include a background color as well. That way, recipients who cannot view images will see the background color instead.

Use descriptive text or alt tags for all images that you do include.

When you use images, make sure you keep the text separate from the images, rather than including text as part of the image. This will ensure that recipients who cannot view images can still read your content.

In our next Blog, we will discuss how to improve your open rates.
